Evolving responses to COVID-19 lockdown. Boué elides collage-making, performance and assemblage while isolated from her studio.

Limbo is the catalyst for new work. With these improvised 'New Tools for Life' pieces, Boué imagines the 'necessary equipment' to navigate this vast unknown, including objects, ritual and play.

Themes of dislocation and exile, which so preoccupy Boué's practice, continue to underpin a creative (''survivalist') engagement. Singular, yet redolent of past encounters with limbo (in transit or periods of illness), Boué trawls the objects in her collection, and the practice of self-documentation via photography, to speak to this moment.

What is home now? Boué considers the domestic (an abiding concern in her work) anew.
