Safe as Houses
Safe as Houses is a series of 12 photographs commissioned by Aidan Moesby for the Online Exhibition, Thresholds at MIMA in 2020. The exhibiting artists were Sonia Boué, Lindsay Duncanson and Catriona Gallagher. These photographs were taken between the first and second national lockdowns as Boué moved the contents of the walkthrough studio she had inhabited for 10 years to an adjacent studio with a lockable door.
The photographs reflect Boué’s key themes of identity and displacement, as well as her fascination with family history and material memory.
Due to the pandemic, Aidan Moesby’s DASH Future Curators residency at MIMA resulted in a fully accessible PDF exhibition, which can be viewed below.
