Sherlock: The Three-Pipe Problem

In this short article, commissioned by Ought Journal of Autistic Culture visual editor Pernille Fraser, Boué critiques the BBC’s Sherlock 2010-2017 from a neurodivergent perspective, responding to media scrutiny of Sherlock’s coded autistic characterisation and problematic tropes.

The article also mentions Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch and the Kongress survey of barriers for neurodivergent artists in the arts. The text was inspired by three satirical self-portraits of Boué as Sherlock, which are also featured.
